Hidden-a sonnet
Hidden
Wouldst Thou see fit to quench this thirsting soul? Its yearning's deepened since my life began. My heart hath been assigned a lover's role, continues pleading, like a mendicant. From ignorance's doorstep I console myself, yet praying fervently again- without Thee I am far less than a whole. Thou mockest me because I am a man? My love for Thee exacts a wretched toll. Is that the purpose of Thine hidden plan? No matter I petition or cajole, words falleth farther from Thine holy hand. In desert sands my search for Thee above revealeth faint mirages of Thy love. |
