Post The Moola Mantra - Words and Translation

Post by Akindra on Sat May 10, 2008 3:09 pm

Ever since Sarveswara had the Moola Mantra song on here (from Maneesh De Moor's album "Om Deeksha"), I have been obssessed with finding out the words and what they mean.

Finally I asked and received the answer from a monk I've been chatting with over in India. He found a webpage with the words and translated them for me. Thanks Siddhartha Krishna!

So, here are the words and his translation for anyone else who is interested.

Glenda

Om Sat Chit Ananda Parabrahma
Purushothama Paramatma
Sri Bhagavathi Sametha
Sri Bhagavathe Namaha

Sat = supreme existence
Chit = Supreme Consciousness
Ananda = supreme bliss
parabrahma = the Supreme
Purushottama = the greatest amongst all beings
Paramatma = the greatest soul
Shri Bhagavati Sameta = accompanied by the Divine Goddess Parvati
Shri Bhagavate namah = I bow down to the Supreme Lord Shiva.......

No wonder I loved it so much, and felt so connected to God when I would listen to it ... I had no idea it was associated with my deities Shiva & Parvati. I am in awe ... Thank you Mixsey, hug Thank you God.
Kiss

Om Sri Sai Ram aum
