A poem
I have just discovered this poem through a stranger on another site, when i read it i automatically assumed it was about the stillness that we often speak of here. when i replied to the lady she told me that it came from the old testament and she had never heard of Ashram or anyhting and asked me for the link to come here. I think i have just been used as a divine instrument to bring her here. I hope so anyway. Anyway here is the poem, would love to know your thoughts on it also
For You alone my soul waits in silence;
My hope is from the Beloved.
Enfolding me with strength and
Steadfast love,
My faith shall remain firm.
In the Silence rests my freedom and
My guidance;
You are the Heart of my heart,
My refuge is in the Silence.
For You alone my soul waits in silence;
My hope is from the Beloved.
Enfolding me with strength and
Steadfast love,
My faith shall remain firm.
In the Silence rests my freedom and
My guidance;
You are the Heart of my heart,
My refuge is in the Silence.

Re: A poem
This poem is full of Inspiration and Wisdom ... and written from one who "knows" and awake to reality that in the depth of stillness is silence and the source from whence Truth originates ...
They speak of God being the doer also ... how perfectly timed this poem is for me right NOW at this presice moment ... It is confirmation of some spiritual messages I have been recieving myself in the last 24 hours or so. Far too long for me to go into, just know my dear Starshine ... you have been used as a divine instrument to me in this moment. THANK YOU!!! I would love to know more about the poem and which part of the old testament it actually came from?

Re: A poem
im so glad i was an instrument for someone LoL. I just knew when i read it and they way i came across it that i needed to post it here, so im delighted that you were able to benefit from it, as you benefit so many others here. Unfortunatly i dont know anymore about where exactly the poem is in the old testament as shortly after i posted it the lady went offline, but if i do see her again i will definatly ask here.

Re: A poem
The poem is from Psalm 62 - here is the whole thing
Psalm 62
God Alone a Refuge from Treachery and Oppression.
For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
1(A)My soul waits in silence for God only;
From Him (B)is my salvation.
2He only is my (C)rock and my salvation,
My (D)stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.
3How long will you assail a man,
That you may murder him, all of you,
Like a (E)leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
4They have counseled only to thrust him down from his high position;
They (F)delight in falsehood;
They (G)bless with their mouth,
But inwardly they curse. Selah.
5My soul, (H)wait in silence for God only,
For my hope is from Him.
6He only is (I)my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
7On God my (J)salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my (K)refuge is in God.
8(L)Trust in Him at all times, O people;
(M)Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.
9Men of (N)low degree are only (O)vanity and men of rank are a (P)lie;
In the (Q)balances they go up;
They are together lighter than breath.
10(R)Do not trust in oppression
And do not vainly hope in (S)robbery;
If riches increase, (T)do not set your heart upon them.
11[a]Once God has (U)spoken;
[b]Twice I have heard this:
That (V)power belongs to God;
12And lovingkindness (W)is Yours, O Lord,
For You (X)recompense a man according to his work.
