Perserverance- A Villanelle

The thought that I might find Thee during present incarnation
sends purple waves of joy reverberating through my spine.
To reach a higher plane I must continue meditation.

A sacred space created for my silent adoration
exists where time soon slips into a place that isn't mine.
Oh Lord can I still find Thee, dwelling in this incarnation?

The body seems to vanish in one-pointed concentration,
that line between reality and maya stretches fine.
To reach a higher plane I must not stop my meditation.

So calming, inhalation dances close with exhalation-
(at times breath ceases due not to intentional design.)
Oh God, the times I feel Thy love while in this incarnation.

How wonderful the absence of a formal education,
no classrooms necessary for my spirit to refine.
To gain the higher ground I must continue meditation.

Some day will come the bliss that follows Self-realization-
to ultimately know myself as one with the Divine.
The thought that I might find Thee during present incarnation...
to reach the highest plane I must continue meditation.

So much in this poem Jon ... about how the wisdom that is gained through meditation, (conversation with higher self) not through book knowledge. The gaining of the knowing, can not come by what one reads in books, but only what one gains through the experience of the closeness to the higher self one attains only through meditation, (concentration on higher self). How this knowledge indeed expresses the Truth that all seek sooner or later; and the Truth of Love Divine that is felt in all its Glory when the experience is heightened by the ongoing consistency of meditation. Jon so beautifully expressed and I have only touched on a particle of information you speak of within the words of this poem.
