Bhakti (devotion) does not consist of wearing ochre robes, observing rituals, etc. A pure heart, uninterrupted contemplation of God, feeling that everything is the Lord's creation and therefore One, detachment from sense objects, embracing all in equal love, practising truth in speech - these are the characteristics of Bhakti.
