Why do I vacillate between vice and virtue?
Please help me cultivate the two means to reach You.

First in my lover's heart the essence of silence
needed before I start this trial of endurance.

Second, the strength of will to keep sharply focused
So that no errant thoughts divert from the locus

of Thee, because I must secure Thy devotion
to aid in my swim across the breadth of Thine ocean.

Oh how I have missed your eloquent words in verse tantalizing my own creative juices.
