Nothing can disturb the soul within, the One that is the witness of the body. Life can deal many scenarios, some wonderful and some traumatic. But it is each of these that brings One to their rightful place of knowing who they are. We do ride the roller coaster of life; its purpose is to detach us from the delusion that we are the body. Through practicing our spiritual discipline at all moments of the ride, as we are taken from highest peak to lowest ground, we are shaken awake to the realisation that all that happens in our life is purely part of an intimate and unique journey from self to God. Sat Nov 14, 2009 7:43 am by Akindra ![]() The Lord Buddha has said... ...that we must not believe in a thing said merely because it is said; nor traditions because they have been handed down from antiquity; nor rumors, as such; nor writings by Sages, because Sages wrote them; nor fancies that we may suspect to have been inspired in us by a Deva; nor from inferences drawn from some haphazard assumption we may have made; nor because of what seems an analogical necessity; nor on the mere authority of our teachers or Masters. But we are to believe when the writing, doctrine, or saying is corroborated by our own reason and consciousness. "For this", says he in concluding, "I taught you not to believe merely because you have heard, but when you believed of your consciousness, then to act accordingly and abundantly." The Atma. From where did you come? From the Atma. Where are you going? To the Atma. How long will you be here? So long as being engaged in sensual pursuits. Where are you? In the unreal and ever-changing world. In what form? As Anatma (that which is not Atma). What are you engaged in? In evanescent tasks. Therefore what should you do hereafter? Give these up and strive to merge with the Atma. - BABA 14 November 2009 Log in Who is Online ?
