Re: path to enlightenment
Right, this is about deep set emotional beliefs. It has nothing to do with intellectual ideas or concepts, although these concepts CAN help point the way...

Experiental way - that's the clue I think. We can know theoretically what we are, but I think the experience of that is what people search for.
I guess hence the focus on meditation etc as part of so many paths.
Hmmm...thanks for your post - something for me to think about today.

Re: path to enlightenment
I would describe Enlightenment as the fundamental recognition of who and what we truly are in the most direct experiential way.
While this is simple enough (recognizing what we already are), the implications are truly staggering....
I never get tired of exploring those implications, because to truly see it IS to be/have that.

Re: path to enlightenment
If you love yourself you become free to love everyone and everything else. I think this is a really important step to spiritual growth.
As for enlightenment, I believe it is to be "lightened" from the belief that we are of this body and this material world. Seeing things as they are. Knowing what is illusion and what is real.
And there are so many paths and everyone resonates with different ones, sometimes religions, sometimes philosophies, ways of life etc
For me - it's a mix of lots of different paths to make my own individual path - a mix of spiritual beliefs, philosophies and ways of life. And I think mine is always changing too.
I'd be really interested to hear others path stories.
